Poputei is a sad character. Her husband was killed fighting the Terram, leaving her to raise her twin infant sons by herself. She doesn't say much during the series, but is always there keeping her end up and managing to take care of the twins at the same time. She also gives Mimsy advice and warnings about marriage and child rearing from time to time.
